Tips - Reduce polygon count


Sometimes a model has more detail than whats needed and it is desirable to reduce the number of polygons to increase your frame rate. Milkshape has a 'Direct X Mesh Tools' plugin that lets you reduce the number of polygons often with no noticable difference in model quality. To use the 'Direct X Mesh Tools' just click on the plugin and then move the slider that appears in the dialog to the level of detail required (eg half way to lose half your polygons) and then click on the 'Save Icon'. You should see unnecessary polygons removed from your mesh.
