imageGLScene is an OpenGL based 3D library for Delphi. It provides visual components and objects allowing description and rendering of 3D scenes in an easy, no-hassle, yet powerful manner.

GLScene is not just an OpenGL wrapper or utility library, it has grown to become a set of founding classes for a generic 3D engine with Rapid Application Development in mind. GLScene allows you to quickly design and render 3D scenes without having to learn the intricacies of OpenGL, if you know how to design a TForm, you'll easily master the basic operations of GLScene. The library comes with a large collections of demos showcasing the ease of use, and demonstrating RAD wasn't done at the expense of CPU/GPU horsepower.

Da Stranger - GLScene v1.1 is released! Aug 23, 2010

GLScene v1.1 is officially out. You can get it from sourceforge download page Some tips for migrating your code can be found here

Also I created a section for SVN snapshots. These might not be stable, but will surely be up-to-date. Current revision number is 5044.

Da Stranger - Repository migrated to SVN Aug 04, 2010

Thanks to Yann Papouin our CVS reposivity was converted to SVN. You need to install a SVN client (for example http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads) and use this new connection string: https://glscene.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/glscene/trunk . If you have any questions or want to report a bug, please use the official forum.

Da Stranger - Web forum online! Jun 19, 2010

I set up a web forum that will hopefully replace the newsgroup server. Now you can post your questions and get in touch with developers here: https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/glscene/

Also, there is a GoogleGroup for those who prefer a simpler approach: http://groups.google.com/group/glscene_dev

Eric - glInfo for Android Jun 15, 2010

I've published a small developer utility "glInfo" on the Android market which provides info about supported OpenGL extensions, limits and video configuration.

It is one of the first steps in the direction of a "GLScene for Android" (which will be Java/Dalvik-based for the moment). Hopefully a subsection of the site will be dedicated to it.

Eric - Newsgroups and website status Jun 7, 2010

As many of you probably have noticed, the nntp newsgroup have been done, and the server is unlikely to come back up soon...
For questions, support and the rest, you may want to instead go to the following forums (now more? tell me)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/glscene/forums
http://www.pascalgamedevelopment.com/forum/index.php?action=forum
http://lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/board,39.0.html
http://glscene.ru (in Russian)

Also the wiki-based part of this site lost most images (for an unknown reason), that content is AFAICT lost.
The old GLScene website has been restored for historical purposes and is available at

http://glscene.sourceforge.net/oldsite/

GLScene is gearing up for a new release Mar 08, 2007

imageIt has been a while since out first full release of GLSCene. Since then a lot of very bright and helpful developers have stepped up and improved GLScene a lot. Many bug fixes, library enhancements and optimisations have been made. GLSCene will be better than it was before. Soon we will start our release process which will take a while to complete since a lot of testing needs to be done. Better…stronger…faster

oxNewton GLScene Physics Beta release Sep 20, 2006

imagePhysics in 3D applications is the next hot thing in the industry. There is no better time than now to get your feet wet with physics simulations because Dave Gravel has just released the beta version of his oxNewton library. This exiting library fully integrates with GLScene thus making physics simulation very easy indeed. OxNewton is based on the Newton dynamics library and provides physics functionality using the familiar VCL based Delphi way. Head on over and try this excellent GLScene library extension on Dave's web-site

Turbo Explorer Sep 07, 2006

A few days ago, the new DevCo division of Borland has anounced the release of the Turbo family of tools. Turbo explorer (free) versions are immediately available for download at http://www.turboexplorer.com.
